How the data was produced
Each field is read from the vendor's own pricing and documentation pages on the verification date, not from other comparison sites. Where two published sources disagree, the field is marked Disputed and both readings are kept rather than picking the convenient one — the rollover field is the usual offender.
Sentiment fields carry their source and sample size so you can judge the weight
yourself; a 4.4/5 across 25 reviews is not the same claim as 4.4/5 across 2,500. Editorial
judgement is confined to best_for and weakest_at. Everything else is
observable and checkable against the sources listed below.
Known limits. Pricing is US-dollar list price and ignores regional and annual discounts. The set covers eight tools chosen for mobile relevance, so it is not a census of the category. Re-verified quarterly; if the date above is more than a quarter old, treat it as stale and tell us.
Field dictionary
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
id | Short stable key. Safe to join on; will not change between quarters. |
name | Display name as the vendor writes it. |
url | Vendor's own site. Not an affiliate link. |
affiliate | true only for the one tool this publisher earns a commission on. Recorded so you can weight our data if you want to. |
entry_price_usd | Cheapest paid tier that removes the free tier's core restriction, in USD per month. |
free_tier / free_tier_detail | Whether a free tier exists and precisely what it will not let you do. |
metering | What the plan actually meters: messages, credits, tokens or seats. |
entry_allowance | How much of that you get on the entry tier. |
rollover | Whether unused allowance carries to next month. 'disputed' means published sources contradict each other. |
output | What the tool emits: framework and language. |
output_native_swift | Whether it can emit native Swift rather than a cross-platform runtime. |
native_mobile | Whether the result can be listed on the App Store as a native app. The single most decisive field. |
web_output | Whether it produces a web app. |
one_codebase_ios_android_web | Whether one project targets all three. |
interface | Chat, visual builder, or code editor. |
code_export / _detail | Whether you can take the source away, and at which tier. |
app_store_path | Who performs App Store submission: the product, or you. |
survives_cancellation | What happens to your project when you stop paying. true, 'partial' or false. |
needs_coding | Whether coding is required. 'some' means occasional terminal work. |
learning_curve | Relative, not absolute. Compare within this dataset only. |
higher_tiers | What the paid ladder looks like above entry. |
review_sentiment / _detail | Aggregate public sentiment with the source and sample size named. Not our opinion. |
best_for / weakest_at | Editorial judgement, clearly separated from the measured fields above. |
