Rork Pricing Explained: What You Actually Pay

Paid tiers unlock private projects, GitHub code export, preview sharing and App Store publishing.

The mechanic that catches people out

One message equals one prompt, regardless of complexity. "Make the header blue" costs exactly what "add authentication with password reset" costs.

The consequence: when the AI misunderstands you, the correction costs a message too. Four attempts at one screen is four messages, three of which produced nothing you wanted.

Unused messages do not roll over. Whatever you have not spent when the month resets is gone.

So the effective cost per useful change runs well above the sticker price. If your average change takes two to three attempts — which is what users consistently describe — then 100 messages is realistically 30 to 50 useful changes a month.

How to not waste them

Batch aggressively. "Add a settings screen with a dark mode toggle, notification preferences and a logout button" is one message. Asking separately is three.

Over-specify. Vague prompts are the single largest source of wasted allowance. Describe the screen, the data it shows, and what happens when the user acts.

Fix the biggest thing first. If the layout is wrong and the copy is wrong, correct both in one message.

Start free. The free tier will not let you export or publish, but it shows you output quality before you pay anything.

$50 Middle — if you are iterating heavily or building something with real screen count.

$100 Senior — genuinely hard to justify unless you are building continuously.

Before you cancel anything

Export your code to GitHub first.

Projects lock when a subscription lapses, and code export is itself a paid-tier feature — so letting the subscription drop can remove your ability to retrieve the thing you would need in order to leave. This is entirely avoidable and it generates the angriest reviews Rork receives.
